A. F. Eibel (Malden, MA) 5-string banjo Circa 1890's

This is another fancy banjo from this Massachusetts maker.  Once again, the rim bolts are countersunk into a thick wood rim, which is spunover with German silver.  The beautiful engraved inlays are quite extensive on this banjo, including one set on the heelcap.  Note the extensive use of Fairbanks hardware, including a Fairbanks & Cole patent tailpiece.
