John C. Haynes “Bay State” 5-string banjo, model 317, Circa 1890's
I have two different Bay State model 317 banjos in my collection. This one has a bit more pearl on the peghead and fingerboard, while the other has an ebony backstrap. If anyone knows which one was made earlier, I would appreciate the information.
