Vega Tubaphone Deluxe tenor banjo Circa 1922, S/N 48487
This was the top of the line in Vega tenor banjos in the early 1920's. Since this is labled a Tubaphone rather than a Vegaphone, it may have never had a resonator. Note the exquisite engraved pearl and engraved, gold-plated hardware. Also, the rim cap is made of beautiful multi-colored abalone shell.
