Robinson (by Fairbanks), grade 2, 5-string banjo, Circa 1900

This is the only higher grade Robinson banjo that I have seen, with engraved pearl inlays similar to those on my Fairbanks "Special Electric" banjorine and a nicely carved heel.  The ebony backstrap and rim and dowel stick hardware are also similar to higher grade Fairbanks banjos from the same period. Note the nice inlaid Maltese cross tuning pegs and the Fairbanks & Cole tailpiece.
