George C. Dobson "Victor-Superior" 5-string banjo, Circa 1880's
In George Dobson's Victor line, the Superior model was the next to the top of the line and listed for $60 in period catalogs. It featured a heavy, well constructed rim with a decorative tension hoop and ornate pearl and metal inlays on the peghead and fingerboard.
